Tina Horwood, Director of Choirs
Mrs. Horwood is a proud graduate of Oak Bay High School, as are all four of her children. She considers herself fortunate to have taken over leadership of the choral program from Eileen Cooper in 1995. Since that time, she has devoted her all to the students of Oak Bay. During Tina’s tenure Oak Bay has carried on its tradition of excellence in choral music and the program has enriched hundreds of students’ lives. Under Tina’s leadership, Oak Bay High Choirs have toured extensively, won numerous awards and festivals, and hosted many visiting choirs and clinicians. Tina is proud that students who go through the choir program come out with excellent skills as peers and teammates, while gaining leadership experience through Vocal Council and Teacher Assistant opportunities. When not in the choir room, Tina can be found teaching Math 12 or coaching the Oak Bay Ski & Snowboard team. Tina has been the musical director for School District 61’s Island Ukuleles since 1993.
